Individual Counseling

“Light is to darkness what love is to fear.
In the presence of one, the other disappears.”

– Marianne Williamson

There is an intensity to the stress in our world today…

You’re sensitive and care deeply about others, but there’s so much pain it feels overwhelming.

You’re a caregiver and a people pleaser, but all these years of smiling and saying yes when you mean no has taken a toll on your self-esteem.

You’re experiencing physical symptoms in your body that your doctor tells you are caused and made worse by stress.

You’re realizing more and more that something is holding you back in a relationship with a partner, a family member, or a friend.

“Light is to darkness what love is to fear.
In the presence of one, the other disappears.”

– Marianne Williamson

You feel lonely and long to connect with others. But all the anger and polarization in our world makes you want to isolate yourself because you don’t want someone to dump their toxic anger on you.

You worry about the environment and climate change and wonder if you can make a difference.

You’re passionate about social justice but feel exhausted from the struggle and lack of progress.

Just keeping your head above water can feel like a constant struggle.

You don’t have the energy to exercise, and even your efforts at self-care feel draining,

Snapping at people is something you never used to do.

You’ve started to isolate and withdraw from your community connections because everyone seems so angry and quick to judge and point fingers.

You feel disconnected from the light inside of you and aren’t sure how to get this back.

And when things start to feel overwhelming…

You do all sorts of things to cope…

You “numb out,” binge-watch Netflix, and avoid social situations.

You distract yourself by staying busy and caring for everyone else but yourself.

You stuff things down, ignore your emotions and feelings, and don’t let your loved ones know what you need. Then you eat a bag of cookies, drink too much alcohol, or spend money on things you don’t need.

You spend hours on social media, comparing how you feel on the inside with what others project on the outside. Scrolling through your feed leaves you feeling insecure, not good enough, and even more lonely.

There’s a voice inside telling you to slow down and pay attention.

Are you listening to the world inside you?

All stress is a call for attention. You have needs that haven’t been listened to. If you don’t start paying attention, whatever symptoms you are experiencing will intensify and accelerate.

You feel more tired, lonely, and depressed.

That back pain begins to get worse.

Your spouse or partner will surprise you by sharing how unhappy they are with your relationship.

You’ll eat more, drink more, or spend more, and then feel guilty, which just adds to your stress.

You get more accident-prone, lose important things, and start to doubt your ability to navigate the world like you used to.

You deserve some time for yourself.

Making time an hour a week for YOU isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity.

You deserve a quiet, safe space to breathe deeply and explore the issues affecting your self-worth, relationships, and overall joy and well-being.

What we do is a lot like planting a garden.

Before you plant any seeds, you first must make sure the garden is in the right place to get all the sunlight and nourishment it needs. You are in the right place. Together, we’ll create a safe place for you to access the resources you need and restore your connection to the light inside you.

Next, you prepare the soil, adding the right nutrients and removing any rocks or weeds that could prevent new life from emerging. We’ll help you remove the obstacles and patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that are holding you back.

Then, it’s time to plant your seeds in the soil you’ve prepared. Planting a seed in the darkness is what activates its innate capacity to reach for the light and grow. All of us need dark moments in our lives because they make us reach for the light and grow.

Let me help you create an environment inside of you that allows you to reach for the light, grow into the person you want to be, and bring your deepest desires to life.
