There are lots of benefits to online counseling that my clients love!
You are in the place you feel the most comfortable. I’ll be coming to you (via the screen).
You aren’t limited to finding the right counselor in your immediate area – online counseling gives you access to any licensed therapist who has the experience and expertise you are looking for in Florida.
If you want, you can sit outside and enjoy the soothing beauty of nature.
There’s also never having to worry about running into someone in the waiting room and having that awkward conversation.
You avoid the stress of driving to your appointment and looking for a place to park.
You don’t even have to take time off work! You can sit in your car and do counseling on your lunch break.

Curl up with your favorite pet beside you as an added layer of support and emotional assistance.
You don’t have to arrange childcare while you are away from home.
Online counseling is just as effective as in-person counseling.
There are many reasons people decide to work with a mental health professional. My clients come from all walks of life filled with unique circumstances and challenges. They want to learn how to manage trauma, overcome low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and addictive behaviors, improve their relationships, or simply gain insight into how to have a more purposeful life.
Like an appointment with any medical professional, traditional counseling used to mean visiting an office to meet for a private, face-to-face consultation. These days, thanks to technological advances, our “new normal” is often seeking virtual healthcare.
You may be wondering if meeting a counselor online instead of in-person will affect the quality and goals of your therapy. But recent research shows that patients are equally satisfied with their online therapy experience. A study completed by the National Institute of Health (NIH) also demonstrates that online counseling is just as effective as traditional therapy. In many cases, patients felt less vulnerable confiding to someone on a screen versus in person.
In addition, the availability of therapy-specific HIPPA-compliant portals means counselors can continue to provide safe, private, and confidential services to patients in the comfort and convenience of their own homes.
Even clients who are reluctant and skeptical at first are amazed at how comfortable they feel at the end of our first session.
The online platform is easy to connect and use.
There is no software to download, and you can use whatever device you like (desktop, laptop, tablet, or cell phone). The day before our session, I will send you a link via email or text (whichever you prefer). All you do is click on this link. You’ll then be brought into my virtual waiting room.
Your device will ask you to allow your microphone and camera to be used, and once you click on the box “Allow,” you are checked in. That’s all there is to it! Then, I’ll start our session.
Here are some tips to make sure you have the best experience possible.
- Use a strong Internet connection and close all the other apps on your device.
- Choose a quiet place where you feel comfortable and away from distractions.
- You are welcome to use headphones or earbuds for added privacy.
- Prop your device up so that you don’t have to hold it and focus on your session.
- If you decide to use your car, please make sure you park somewhere safe and private. We will never do online counseling if you are driving.
